NHSScotland is improving the way it uses information from GP patient records

From May 2017 we will improve the way we use information from GP patient records. These changes will help to plan and improve health and care services in Scotland.

SPIRE (Scottish Primary Care Information Resource) is a service that has been developed to help GPs, the NHS in Scotland and researchers to learn from information held at GP practices.

TRAVEL ADVICE/IMMUNISATION SERVICE

The practice runs a Travel Clinic on a Monday afternoon and a Wednesday morning. Patients are required to pick up a Travel Questionnaire from Reception and fill it in and hand it back to Reception 6 weeks prior to date of travel.

This clinic will only give the basic injections available on the NHS and if Non - NHS vaccinations / Malaria Tablets are required (advised by Nurse), these will have to be given at a private Travel Clinic. This is a service which is available at the majority of local Pharmacies in the area. The Pharmacy will advise you of the cost of any vaccines they administer.

Vaccinations to you free of charge as part of our NHS service are:

  • Hepatitis A vaccine
  • Typhoid vaccine
  • Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio vaccine
  • Cholera Vaccine Oral Suspension and Granules

ALL other vaccinations for travel, including anti-malarial medication, would be required to be done at a private clinic.

Travel information is also available at the following website:
