IMPORTANT INFORMATION - NEW COMPUTER SYSTEM
We are changing our clinical software to a new system called Hosted Vision on Thurs 30th July. This is part of NHS Scotland's move to a more modern, secure clinical system but there will be some temporary disruption while the change takes place. Please see key information below.
Fri 24th July - afternoon
- We enter a period where our system is "read-only", while our patient records are transferred to the new system.
- During the "read-only" period, we will be unable to process any routine requests incl. repeat prescriptions, test results, sicklines/MED3s, booking of appointments, processing of paperwork/reports etc
From Fri 24th July until Fri 7th August, we will be operating an urgent-care only service to our patient population. This means we will still provide help and assistance to those who require acute medical intervention. Any routine presentations will be redirected to alternative services such as community pharmacies, or asked to call back once our system is live.
eConsults
Our eConsult service will be switched off from lunchtime on Fri 24th July and will remain off until Mon 10th August. This includes administrative requests and reviews. When we re-open eConsults on Monday 10th August, this will be on a reduced basis while we continue navigating a brand new system.
Prescriptions
Our prescription line will be closed from 8am on Friday 24th July, alongside our online prescription ordering service. These services will re-open at 1pm on Thurs 30th July. This is because we will be unable to process prescriptions during our "read-only" period. Please order your repeat prescriptions early if your due date is likely to fall within our read-only period. What if I run out of medication during this time? If it is a repeat prescription and something you receive regularly, please visit your usual pharmacy who can provide an emergency supply to you.
We will provide acute prescriptions to those who require it, based on clinical presentation.
Sicklines/MED3
If you require a new sickline or an extension to your sickline, please note we will be unable to process this between 24th July through to 30th July. All sicklines can be backdated, therefore please refrain from contacting us during the period mentioned above as we will be unable to help you. If you are seeking your first sick line, please self-certify for the first 7 days.
Results/Reports/Letters
We will not receive any results, reports or letters from Fri 24th July until our new system is live on Thurs 30th July. When our new system does go live, please note we will have several days of data to check and process, therefore we request that you refrain from phoning us until Monday 3rd August onwards.
Appointments
Due to our change in software, we will have very limited appointments available on the system for pre-booking. You may be asked to phone us back in mid-August when we have our extended diary available. We appreciate this may be frustrating, but we truly appreciate your patience and understanding whilst our team navigate this busy period.
Where can I get help?
Most community pharmacies offer Pharmacy First, which can assist in treating minor ailments such as UTIs, skin complaints, coughs and colds. There is a walk-in clinic available at the Health Village, please click the following link for more information on opening times and appropriate presentations; GP Walk-In Centres. If you feel you need urgent medical attention outwith our opening hours, please contact NHS24 on 111. If you feel you are experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency, dial 999. Routine health advice can also be sought from NHS Inform.
WHY IS YOUR GP PRACTICE NOW UNABLE TO DO THE THINGS THEY ONCE WERE?
The Grampian LMC (Local Medical Council) have released a letter to the public of Grampian (Shire, City and Moray) explaining why Primary Care has had to change how they deliver care and services to patients.
We are trickling this information out in bitesize chunks on our Facebook page, but if you want to read the full letter, you can download it here.
TEMPORARY PRACTICE CLOSURES
From Tues 2nd June 2026, we will be closing the Practice between 12-2pm on Tuesday and Thursday's only to allow for essential staff training. This is in the lead up to a change in software taking place at the end of July. Allowing protected learning time for our staff will ensure the transition goes as smoothly as possible, allowing us to continue the high quality of care we provide to our patients.
Thank you for your support, understanding and patience while we navigate this large change.
